The Commencal Meta SX V5 Ride isn’t designed for a leisurely ride: it’s built for those seeking a riding experience as close as possible to that of a downhill bike, on the most challenging slopes and in the most demanding bike parks. Its VCS virtual pivot point kinematics deliver 165 mm of rear travel, with suspension performance worthy of a competition machine — yet lively enough to chain together runs without ever weighing you down.
At the front, the RockShox Zeb Base fork with its 38 mm stanchions provides a chassis capable of withstanding the harshest terrain, with 170 mm of travel, a new DebonAir+ spring and a Rush RC hydraulic cartridge. At the rear, the RockShox Super Deluxe Select+ shock takes over: its improved end-stroke control and additional reservoir, which increases the available oil volume, ensure consistent performance even on the longest descents and the most intense sequences.
Braking is handled by the SRAM DB8 brakes — reliable, powerful and easy to modulate — fitted to 200 mm discs at both the front and rear. The SRAM NX Eagle 12-speed drivetrain ensures smooth gear changes whatever the gradient, whilst the SRAM X1 1000 Eagle crankset and its 11-50T cassette provide the necessary range to tackle both flat sections and technical climbs.
Fitted with sturdy and comfortable Spank Spike Race 33 rims, and fitted with Maxxis Assegai tyres at the front and DHR II tyres at the rear in a ‘mullet’ configuration (29″/27.5″), this bike combines stability at high speeds with agility through tight corners. Its glossy Pyrite Grey finish is complemented by full frame protection (seam tube, chainstays, seatstays) to absorb impacts without faltering — because a bike built for action must also be built to last.
A mountain bike that shows no tolerance for mediocrity — and rewards every risk you take.
